Background | Norwalk virus, which stands for Norovirus. Norovirus belongs to the Caliciviridae family, and is a single-stranded positive-stranded RNA non-enveloped virus of the genus Norovirus. Its model structure is shown in the figure on the right. To date, multiple noroviruses have been found in humans, cattle, pigs, mice and oysters. As the pathogen of viral gastroenteritis, human norovirus has important medical significance. |
