Description | |
Background | Heart-type fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) is a novel small cytoplasmic protein abundant in the heart, consisting of 132 amino acids with a molecular weight of 15kDa. It is highly cardiac-specific (ie, expressed primarily in cardiac tissue), but is also expressed at low concentrations in tissues other than the heart. After myocardial injury, H-FABP is rapidly released into blood vessels at a rate exceeding that of any myocardial enzymes. It begins to increase 30 minutes after myocardial infarction (AMI), reaches a peak value at 6-8 hours, and returns to normal within 24 hours. It can be used as an early diagnostic marker of AMI, and is positively correlated with the degree of myocardial injury. |
We can offer labeled proteins/antibodies using a broad range of intensely fluorescent dyes and labels including FITC, Biotin, Alexa Fluor, Rhodamine B, Cy, Co-Au.
